The Russell County Democratic Committee recently held its nominating Convention and selected its candidates for the upcoming special election on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The Commonwealth’s Attorney and the Treasurer offices will both be on the ballot in the special election.

[1] Brian K. Patton, the current interim Commonwealth’s Attorney will be running for Commonwealth’s Attorney. Brian was selected to serve as interim Commonwealth’s Attorney when Mike Bush resigned to take a judgeship.

Billy W. Wampler, current member of the Board of Supervisors, was selected as the nominee for the Treasurer’s office.

The Russell County Democratic Committee’s next meeting will be on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 7:00 PM.

The meeting will be held in the Russell County Circuit Courtroom, in Lebanon, VA.
